Photography

So in the past month or so, I've taken up photography as a bit of a hobby. I'm amateur -- VERY amateur. But still, I've managed to take a few pictures with my little Canon Powershot that I'm pretty pleased with. Playing with them in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom helps a lot too. :)

Usually, as you'll soon see, Morganne is the subject of my impromptu photo shoots since she's a most willing participant. Kurt is a more difficult subject -- at least when it comes to taking pretentious arty photos, since he's usually running, dancing or just plain wiggling around too much for me to take a picture that isn't blurred somehow.

For example:

Heheheh! That's my boy. :)

And now, in no particular order, a sample of my pretentious arty photos! Click on the photo to see a larger version.

My attempt at taking a portrait photo of Morganne and Kurt.

Autumn leaves in Provo Canyon.

Morganne chucking rocks in the Provo River.

Trees on the Provo River Parkway, where Morganne and Kurt and I take walks down by Utah Lake.

Kurt Flying! Mike's hands make a cameo. :)

"Left Behind." Kurt looks out Grandma Barbara's door, wanting to go out and play. :sniff sniff:

A log near our bbq spot in American Fork Canyon.

Morganne and Theo the Dog running along the Heber Creeper railroad tracks.

Morganne passing the time in American Fork Canyon.

Morganne passing the time in American Fork Canyon.

Morganne in the tree in Grandma Barbara's front yard.

A bee!

Mount Timpanogos. I made a special trip up Provo Canyon at 10 am one late September morning because Grandma Barbara told me that was the best time to take photos, with the morning light on the mountain. Boy, was she right!

And that's all for now. Hope you enjoyed the pics. :)

Your mom sent me the email of a lot of these pictures and I loved them.

I didn't get to see Kurt looking out the door or Morganne in the tree. Those have made my favorite list, along with them on the bench. So cute.

You did a great job! Maybe you should take the picture of the Grandkids together, instead of Kiddie Kandids.
